Op zaterdag 4 oktober start Otis' zijn culturele seizoen swingend met de Otis’ Hot Club! Met de twee eerdere uitverkochte edities nog vers in het geheugen, gingen we op jacht naar meer kek’ en schmutzig lekkers waar de lindy op kan hoppen en waar de kurken op kunnen ploppen.

Gumbo Night: Celebrating the music of New Orleans
‍Bedoeld als hommage aan de bruisende geboorteplaats van Jazz, Rhythm & Blues en Funk, hebben door de jaren heen al een who is who van de Nederlandse muziekwereld op de Gumbo Night’s in de Nieuwe Anita(Amsterdam) opgetreden en hieruit is de Gumbo Night Band ontstaan. Net als op de avond zelf zul je omgeven worden door het geluid en de atmosfeer New Orleans!

De avond wordt omlijst door DJ Moonshine (Onno Post), hij draait de beste zwarte Amerikaanse muziek op 78 toeren platen. Muziek van de 20er tot en met de50er jaren. Hot jazz, blues, R&B, exotica, gospel, bebop, jump blues en swing.

On Saturday, Oct. 4th, Otis' kicks off its cultural season swinging with Otis' Hot Club! With the two previous sold-out editions still fresh in our minds, we went on the hunt for more swell' and schmutzy goodies for the lindy to hop on and the corks to pop on.

‍Intended as a tribute to the vibrant birthplace of Jazz, Rhythm & Blues and Funk, over the years a who's who of the Dutch music scene have already performed at the Gumbo Night's at the Nieuwe Anita (Amsterdam) and out of this the Gumbo Night Band was born. Just like on these night's itself you will be surrounded by the sound and atmosphere of New Orleans! The evening will be lined by DJ Moonshine (Onno Post), who plays the best black American music on 78 rpm records. Music from the 20s through the 50s. Hot jazz, blues, R&B, exotica, gospel, bebop, jump blues and swing.
